Chairman-elect and the candidate of the People Democratic Party, PDP of Saturday 23rd, 2021 council election in Zangon-Kataf Local Government Area, LGA, of Kaduna State, Hon. Francis A. Sani has thanked God, his family and the electorates for the massive support they gave him at the polls.
“I’m extremely grateful to God Almighty,,” Sani sad. Adding, “For his enduring grace, my dear wife, leaders of our great party, and the good people of Zangon Kataf LGA for their trust and support without which we would not have achieved this feat today. This is a new week, a new day and a most cherished victory has been given to us to begin the day.”
Sani made these statements during his thank you note immediately after been declared winner of the election having satisfied all SIECOM guidelines and got the highest votes: 28,771 and John Hassan of the APC got the second highest votes, 19,509.
Sani further added, My special appreciation goes to the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Malam Nasir Ahmed Elrufa’i for his uncommon commitment towards strengthening the democratic process in our dear state. His insistence on electronic voting and level playing field for all parties which made our victory possible is unprecedented in the history of Local Government elections in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large. We also appreciate the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission, especially the indefatigable and upright Chair of the Commission whose commitment to fairness cannot be overemphasized.
I dedicate this victory to the good people of Zango Kataf Local Government, particularly the victims of violent crimes across various communities in our Local Government. As Chairman, I promised to work with all stakeholders; State government, our councillors, security agencies, community and religious leaders, and you the people to restore peace in our land, and unite our people. It is a promise made, and it will be kept.
My dear people, this victory would not have been won without the vigil you kept to cast your votes, the commitment you made to come out and vote against all odds, the peaceful atmosphere you created for both electoral officers and voters. I have never been more proud to be one of you.
Now that the contest is over, it is time to close ranks and work together for our people. Whether you voted for me or not, you exercised your civic right and I thank you for doing that. It is time to put our differences aside and work for the growth of our Local Government.
Let me assure you that we intend to run a government that is all-encompassing. In this regard, I extend a hand of friendship to my brother and political opponent in this contest, Hon. John Hassan who gave a good fight to the end. His ideas and wealth of experience can benefit us in our drive to make Zangon-Kataf a better place for all.
Permit me to say to our people, especially the youth, who demonstrated unequalled commitment, passion and vigilance from the commencement of the process to this day of Celebration:
The political process does not end on Election day. You need to stay involved in the process by continuing to pay attention to and get involved in the conversation that shapes our politics and governance. There are many more victories to be won. And with what I have seen in this election, my people are ready for more victories. In the words of the 45th American President, Donald J. Trump, “No dream is too big, no Challenge is too great, nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach.”
