The Public Relation Officer, PRO, of kaduna state chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Alberah Catoh chides the kaduna state government over the 25% deduction of civil servants salary without their approval. Alberah made the view of PDP known in a press statement commemorating with the state workers on the occasion of this year’s Workers Day.
“The PDP frowns at and condemns the illegal 25% pay cut of all categories of civil servants, especially the health workers that have put their lives on line for the recovery and survival of victims of the Corona Virus Disease, including the governor, when other States are increasing allowances of health personnel by 25 or 50%,” has said.
On the occasion of this year’s Worker’s Day, PDP hails the State Civil Servants and all Nigerian workers working in the State as they celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day Celebration.
It went further to praise Kaduna State Civil Servants for their “perseverance, working under a very unpredictable labour clime, where threats of unfathomable infractions of labour laws and charters prevail everyday, given the the leadership and governance style of Governor Nasir Elrufai.”
Adding that, the party “urges workers to continue to keep their hopes alive and put in their best to move the State forward, bearing in mind particularly, too, that their current travails is another passing phase, it shall become history in the fullness of time.
“The PDP, more than ever before and indeed, its record speaks for it, is commited to the welfare and security of Nigerians, most importantly, job and food security.
“We make bold to ask: “where are the families and friends that are the main beneficiaries of the chunk of the capital project’s implementations in the State?
“The PDP had earlier warned about the attendant capital flight, with the way indigenous contractors were being sidelined in the State, till date, the zero response to Kaduna State Covid-19 funds speaks volumes, Elrufai should look for succour from his hoards of contractors and business partners and stop making the Kaduna State workers bear the brunt.”
The party calls on the State Government for a reversal and increased incentives and hazard allowances, especially to health workers.
