A non-denominational Christian based organization known as To The Uttermost Part of The Earth Ministry, has distributed food items to Internally Displaced Persons, IDP camps in Kajuru, Zango-kataf, Jema’a, Kauru and Kaura Local Government Areas in Southern Kaduna zone of Kaduna State, yesterday.
Donating the items to the IDPs, the representative of the group, Revd. Mrs. Hannatu Samuel Ndibichukwu, said, “We’re here to sympathize with the victims of herdsmen attacks, to show solidarity as a people and as Christians, God enjoins us to show love to our neighbours as we do to ourselves.
“So, we’ve come to support them with the little that we have.”
She further stated, “I want to use this medium to call on able Nigerians to come to the aid of these people.”
Mrs. Ndibichukwu pray that God will bring and end to the calamity that has befallen our land and she advised the herdsmen doing the killings to repent and change from their evil ways before it is too late.
“As a ministy we will continue to pray for the peace of the land against the predicament bedeviling it,” she said.
She also expressed her pains over the Children at the IDPs, saying, “I can’t explain how I’m being troubled seeing these Children that ought to be at home with their parents and in school but, are now living in IDPs, living in harsh conditions.
“I’m calling on all mothers in the land to cry onto God for mercy, for peace to reign and for God to put an end to the killings,” she added.
Mrs. Ndibichukwu urged government across the spheres to beef up security of lives and properties. She equally appealed to government to have the fear of God in their hearts and do something concrete on the issue of insecurity.
Speaking on behalf of the IDPs, the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Vice Chairman, Zango-kataf LGA, Pastor Isaac Ango Makama, thanked To The Uttermost Part of The Earth Ministry for their kindness.
“We appreciate To The Uttermost Part of The Earth Ministry for the relief materials they have brought to Mercy Camp. And on behalf of the recipient communities that cut across these 5 LGAs, we thank you. The Lord God will reward you exceedingly in Jesus name.”
The food items distributed are: Rice 60 bags, Beans 60 bags, Maize Corn 75 bags, Spaghetti 50 Cartons, Salt 10 bags and Maggie 15 Cartons.
It will be recalled that, recently some communities in Zango-kataf, Kaura, Kauru, Jema’a and Kajuru LGAs have come under attacks by Fulani herdsmen killing innocent and armless people and burnt down their houses. Forcing them to seek refuge in many camps set up by individuals across Southern Kaduna to attend to their immediate needs and avoid being attacked for the second time.
