Southern Kaduna Youths and Students Forum, SKYSFOM has issued a statement on the incessant killings in Southern Kaduna and urged Gov. Nasiru El-rufai of Kaduna State to show genuine commitment to stop the Carnage in the zone.
The group, said,
The killings, maiming and destruction of properties particularly in Kajuru, Chikun, Zango, Kaura and recently Gora has now assumed an unimaginable height and thus, calls for serious concern.
Adding that, SKYSFOM will not sit back and watch many more lives being wasted by some blood sucking militia amidst government imposed curfew (in some of the affected areas) and nearby heavy security presence.
The fact that little or nothing is done to stop the continuous attacks on Southern Kaduna communities or go after the attackers is an indictment on those saddled with the responsibility of keeping us safe and superintending on the general wellbeing of our people and the state at large.
It is therefore, with heavy hearts that we call on the authorities to act fast by bringing the perpetrators to book before our entire community is annihilated.
It is bad enough that we have lost and keep losing many patriarchs and matriarchs to these incessant attacks, losing children and youths too – the future leaders of our region, is totally unacceptable, most unfortunate, and condemnable.
We therefore call on the governor, as the chief security officer of the state, to act fast before our communities are turned to rubbles while there is a chance to stop this ongoing genocide.
Governor Nasiru el’Rufai has to show genuine commitment to stop this carnage by declaring these blood thirsty insurgents, a threat to national security as these attacks have continued unabated even in the face of an ongoing pandemic ravaging the country.
We demand that the government act fast or we would be forced to ask our youths to pick up arms to defend themselves. After all, self defense is a constitutional right, especially in a clear case where ethic cleansing is the motive for the deliberate and coordinated approach to these attacks.
We are still of the hope and believe that these blood suckers are not above the government, or our ever zealous security operatives. What is required is for government to match words with action by going after these marauders and bringing them to book. Anything short of this, will only see our hopes and belief, short lived.
