Former National Vice President, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), former National Youth Leader, Southern Kaduna People Union (SOKAPU), former National President, Southern Kaduna Youth & Student Forum (SKYFOM) and
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader from the Southern region of Kaduna State, Mr. Bagudu Joseph has berated Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State over his recent visit to PDP elite in the state.
Bagudu while speaking to newsmen in kaduna on Thursday noted with disdain the insensitivity of Gov. Wike to the ordeals of the Southern Kaduna region.
He described Wike as a “overrated leader” for failing to take full advantage of a visit like this during a very sensitive moment that killings of all sorts are being meted on the Southern Kaduna people by terrorist to sympathize with us, the region that is the stronghold of PDP responsible for producing the votes that the PDP elites in the state are busy flaunting to curry favour.
He further explained that PDP members especially those from the southern region were disappointed and felt shortchanged.
One would have thought and expected that Wike who is not just a Governor of a state but a statesman and a political leader in the PDP and the country at large should have spared time to identify and condole the people of southern kaduna over the unabated killings that have taken a genocidal dimension.

Adding that, if not for the resilience, doggedness and dedication of the Southern Kaduna region the party would have been death and buried long time ago.
Southern Kaduna region hold the soul of the PDP in the state since 1999, but
instead of Wike as a national figure to appreciate our efforts, he resorted to praising the PDP of its performance in the last local government elections in the state, which wouldn’t have happened if the party is dead.
We expected Wike to visit southern kaduna as he did to Benue state, invite the political leaders for at least a meeting. Instead, it was just but another political patronage to quotas that continuously feast on our political sweat and labour as a zone and a people in the PDP.
As it is now, we are left with no option but to put the records straight that this narrative has to change, that we will no longer be held bound to these worn out paths of accepted successes, this generation of southern kaduna PDP members, supporters and faithful alike will henceforth demand that our reward be directly proportional to our investment, anything to the contrary will be challenged frontally.
This is a clarion call on our political leaders across board to rise to the occasion. Wike should as a matter of urgency redeem his image before Southern Kaduna people, else, we will conclude that we actually overrated him. And for those PDP so-called political heavy weights in kaduna state, it is high time they check what time is it, as it will no longer continue to be business as usual moving forward.
