The younger brother to the dethroned emir of Kano, Mujtabah Abubakar Abba has resigned as Principal Private Secretary to the Emir of Kano.
Mujtabah Abba, the Falakin of Kano (Councillor Finance) who doubled as the Principal Private Secretary to the emir of Kano has tendered his resignation letter dated 9th March, 2020 to the office of the Secretary Kano emirate council.
“I have voluntarily resigned from my position as Principal Private Secretary of Sarkin Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II. In addition, I have also relinquished the title of Falakin Kano”, the letter stated.
Mujtabah was appointed Falakin Kano by his elder brother, Muhammad Sanusi II, the title he held in highest regard and represented the emir in various religious and social occasions until he resigned.
The young Mujtabah is married to late Ado Bayero’s daughter as his second wife.
He was the former staff of the Federal College of Education, Kano and later Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN before he was called upon by his brother to assist him in running the palace affairs.
