Rt Hon. Isa Ashiru Kudan of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and the party’s candidate at the 2019 general election in Kaduna State and currently, an Aspirant in the coming PDP primary election in the state, reiterated his intention to contest for the coming party’s primary election this year.
“I’m declaring before you, today, that I’m contesting in the party’s primaries. And by the grace of God, if emerged victorious to bear the party’s flag at the 2023 general election, I need the co-operation of you all,” has said.
Ashiru made the assertions at his campaign office when Women Leaders, PDP Secretaries and PDP Youth Leaders from the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State had a meeting with him.
He went further saying that the meeting is to intensify their commitment to the party and to also encourage each other.
“In politics, no one can go anywhere alone, we all need each other because everyone has a role to play. I’m urging each and every one of us to be committed to place the party at poll position to clinch power in 2023.”
PDP Women Leader in Kaduna State, Hon. Murna Amboso assured party faithful of women’s commitment to the actualization of power returning to the party this year.
“Women constitute the majority of voters not only in the state but, in Nigeria at large. The role of women in our electoral process cannot be overemphasized. We, as women, are in the forefront of actualizing the party’s dream of returning to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House. But, Women are always not appointed in key positions. We demand for a rethink,” she said.
Kaduna State PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Aliyu Bello, said, the youth in Kaduna State are ever willing to work for the progress of the party in 2023 but, he made a case for the youth, saying, the PDP must include youth in the core activities of the party. They must be carried along as a way of showing them appreciation for their loyalty to the party.
