Member Representing Chikun/Kajuru Constituency of Kaduna State at the National Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Umar Barde is commemorating with Muslim Ummah in Kaduna State, particularly his immediate constituency at the epoch event of Ramadan. Barde urged Muslims to be steadfast and show higher determination by allowing their resilience to come to the fore in this unusual period of Ramadan where the entire world is facing a killer enemy otherwise known as covid-19 scourge.
The Federal Lawmaker says, this is an unusual Ramadan because of the ferocity of the corona virus that started as China’s problem but, now it has become a global disaster.
He further said: “Muslims must show a superior will to be able to observe this year’s Ramadan because of the economic pressure that accompanies the pandemic. However, Muslims must seek solace in the fact that God is supreme and there’s is no limit to how much we can appreciate and worship Him for the good things that he has done for us and for even preserving us up to this moment of our lives.
“The significance of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar should be the central focal point, any other mishap like the covid-19 pandemic must not distract Muslim from fasting. I know it will be difficult but, Muslims must not be deterred from observing one of their tenets,” he said.
Barde also call on Muslims to shun all forms of gathering in this period of Ramadan to help curb the spread of the virulent virus. He urged them to observe the social distancing order of the government, maintain the essential measures of hygiene by washing hands periodically with water and soap, use hand sernitizer frequently, cover nose with hand elbow or tissue paper while coughing and wear the face mask while stepping out of homes. Barde warn strongly on self medication and advise on reporting any suspected case to the NCDC.
Barde pray for God’s guidance and mercy upon Muslims and task Muslims to pray for the end of the pandemic in this Ramadan and total cleansing of our land.
