In a counter-statement issued by National Working Committee, NWC, members of the PDP National Youth Vanguard, which was signed by it’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Crescent Ogbu, the group dissociated itself from a purported Letter, entitled: “The Sentimental Misdirected Missile: A Case For A Review,” saying, “Our attention has been drawn to a statement with the above stated caption, purportedly issued by Kaduna State Youth Vanguard, which was signed by Saidu Gombe as Chairman and Bagudu Joseph as Secretary.
Adding, “The mistake of the writers is that Saidu Gombe is the Deputy National Coordinator (North) and not kaduna state chairman and Bagudu Joseph has since claimed innocent and denied the ill-fated statement .
“The said write-up was crafted to oppose the recent suspension of some key members of the Party in the state and disagree with some of its decisions.
“As the National body of the PDP Youth Vanguard, affiliated as a recognised youth support group and melting point of all PDP friendly NGOs and civil society groups of the party in Nigeria and all PDP chapters overseas, we unequivocally, disassociate our group, the PDP National Youth Vanguard, from the said statement. The statement did not emanate from our Kaduna State Chapter as claimed by the writers.
“Meanwhile, the NWC of the Youth Vanguard will soon address world press conference to state our stand over what Is happening in our great Party and Nigeria at large.
“The state chapters of the Youth Vanguard have the right to make statements in support or to oppose any issues contrary to the provision of the Party’s Constitution at all levels.
“Incidentally, the misdirected signatories and the persons of Saeed and Bagudu are known to our organisation, but the writers are apparently mischievous and impostors, who wish to cause acrimony between our loyal group members and the respected leadership of the Party.
“As a responsible organisation, we believe in respect for constituted authority and obedience to the rule of law.
“Therefore, it is not in our character to condemn or disagree with any position taken by the leadership of our party at any level. Most especially, when it is obvious that such decision is in line with the provision of the Party’s Constitution and aim at promoting the progress and development of our great party.
“Therefore, we call on the leadership of the Party in Kaduna State in particular, and the Nation in general to ignore and disregard the statement, as it is nothing but the figment of the imagination of those behind it.”
