The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna State chapter, Wednesday, inaugurated a 60-member Presidential campaign council with the former Governor of the State, Alh. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero as its Chairman ahead of PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar three days visit to the state.
Inaugurating the council members at the Party Secretariat in Kaduna, the State Party Chairman, Hon. Hassan Hyat, said, it is expected that the committee members will work vigorously in steering the affairs of the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar to restle power come 2023.
Adding that, the party in Kaduna State was waxing stronger with the presidential campaign already flagged off in Uyo State.
Hyat explained that because of the peculiar nature of Kaduna, the Presidential candidate will be in the State for a three working days on a special assignments where he would interface with key stakeholders of the Party across the three Senatorial Zone of the State.
“We already had meetings with all the gubernatorial aspirants including the Gubernatorial Candidate in the State on their roles ahead of the Presidential candidate’s visit.
Hyat assured members of the party in the State that nobody will be left behind, whether their name was shortlisted or not, urging them to make themselves available when their attention is needed.
He explained that Atiku is scheduled to pay homage to the Emir of Zaria on Saturday then come back to Legacy house for some engagement while he proceeded to Southern Kaduna to pay a courtesy visit to the Chief of Kagoro, Emir of Jema’a on Sunday then return to the State Capital for the Grand rally on Monday.
In his remarks, the Campaign council Chairman, Hon. Ramalan Yero, commended the party for the confidence repose on him and the entire members, assuring members of the party and Kaduna residents of their willingness to give their best in order to make Kaduna proud.
” We’re not doing this for anybody but for ourselves. There is not time by our side. I have confidence that a lots of us have experience to carry out the responsibility attach to us.
He said the campaign council is adopting a new strategy to ensure massive votes for the victory of the party both in the State and at the National ahead of the 2023 general elections.
