The Senator representing kaduna Central and Chairman Committee on Banking, Insurance and other financial institutions, Uba Sani has added credence to the outcry of the vulnerable people of kajuru Local Government Area whose recent history has been that of pain and misery.
In a press statement he released recently, he said: I am deeply pained by the renewed attacks and counterattacks among the Fulani and Addara communities in Kajuru Local Government of Kaduna State. I condemn it in the strongest terms and call on both sides to cease hostilities.
The Fulani and Adara communities have been living in peace for decades. Just like other communities in Nigeria and across the world, misunderstandings and challenges do arise. Such conflictual situations do get resolved if community leaders have the interest of their people at heart and are committed to peace and development. It would however seem that in the Fulani and Addara communities, there are conflict entrepreneurs who have been reaping from the conflicts and worsening the misery of the people.
I commend the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for his untiring efforts in seeing that the situation is brought under control. I have been in constant touch with the Governor and we are working on new strategies to address the underlying causes of the conflicts in order to ensure lasting peace.
I call on the security agencies to move into action and arrest the ugly situation. Murderous elements must not be allowed free reign in the troubled communities. Those who are found to be fuelling the conflicts must be brought to book. The security agencies must ensure fairness and justice. We are one people. The way to peace is justice.
I have commenced consultations with elders and youths on both sides of the conflict to work towards enduring peace. We can collectively turn the present situation into an opportunity to create bridges of understanding and resume the task of community building and development.,
Mr Senator thanks for your press release.
As the senator from the affected area I am yet to hear that you visited the affected communities . If you must do the right thing at the right time then visit the affected communities . If you do not go there and see things for yourself how do you honestly mediate in this conflict? We as human beings must remember that our life does not just end here but we shall all give account to the maker of life ! No condition is permanent !As a senator please live above partisanship and know that God is watching your actions. Someone may not have human help but God will show up and fight that battle for years !
