The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) Kaduna state chapter, Dr. Felix Hassan Hyat, today, at the party’s secretariat in the state capital thanked the people of the state for the massive support given to the party’s candidates at the 2023 general election.
“As you are all aware,” said Hyat. Adding that “the much anticipated 2023 general elections kick-started with the conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections on the 25th February 2023.
“Although the process and outcome of the elections, especially in the presidential election, fell short of the expectations of the majority of Nigerians and the PDP, we are, nonetheless, grateful for the show of support given to our candidates and party across the state.
“In particular, we appreciate the large turn-out of voters in our state, especially those who voted in our favour and gave our presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, giving him, yet again, his highest number of votes in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. We are also very grateful for voting our three (3) candidates for the senate and ten (10) out of the 16 House of Representatives seats in the state.
This is a clear indication that the people of Kaduna State have rejected the APC and are now resolved to pitch their tent with the PDP. We do not take that vote of confidence for granted.
We call on the good people of Kaduna, irrespective of the party they supported in the presidential election, to do even more in the next round of elections. We must come out en masse and ensure we send the APC packing from our state.
We also appeal to the members and supporters of the Labour Party in our dear state to put behind the setbacks that we all suffered in the presidential elections and move ahead together. I urge you to join forces with our party and other well-meaning citizens to salvage this state from the recklessness of the last 8 years. The people of this state will not forgive us if we fail to defeat the APC and confine its divisive and retrogressive policies to our ugly past. It is a task that must be done and together we can.”
