The People Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in Kaduna State in the coming election, Rt. Hon. Ashiru Mohammed Kudan, Bai Zazzau, said, “To agitate and make demands are both democratically and politically right,” Ashiru made the remark when responding to the agitation and the 7-point demands of the Southern Kaduna New Faces in Kaduna, yesterday.
According to the former House of Representatives Member and PDP gubernatorial candidate in 2019, “I will be expecting your list (Southern Kaduna New Faces) and see how you can be included in the campaign structure. I want you to go home with the feeling that you are dealing with your brother, someone who has you in his heart, somebody who wants to make a difference from what is happening in kaduna state now.”
He further added, when the agitation of the Southern Kaduna New Faces started, I was out of the country but the leader of our party, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi was on ground and he managed the crisis very well. I thank him for the role he played.
I was part of the success story of Makarfi’s government (1999-2007). At that time, he made sure all appointments in respect of local governments were determined by the LG by themselves. My government, by his grace, will do the same.
During Makarfi’s time he often asked each LG to nominate 3 persons for him to pick from, in my government we will do the same. I will not be far away from what my boss did. I have learnt lessons serving in Makarfi’s government and I have no reason not to follow suit since his policies have worked for the greater good of the people.
Our priority, if given the opportunity to serve I will make sure we sleep with our two eyes closed. The second on our agenda is how to reunite the divided people of kaduna state. When the PDP government left, the people were not as divided as they are now.
