House of Justice through its Southern Kaduna Resilience Fund (SKARF) Corporate Social Responsibility project for Internally Displaced Persons have organized a Career Day and prize giving ceremony for the displaced children in Kaduna on Monday.
Speaking during the event, Miss Augustina Kukah, the Program Officer for the Project, said, it is a delight that kids who could not speak a word of English when they were enrolled in the School are now able to speak English, are quickly gaining steam in other subjects and are able to work out sums in Mathematics.
Some of the pupils strutted on the Career walkway in a fashion show while awards were given to the most disciplined pupils, best in academics, best in spoken English, most punctual pupil and the most neatest students.
The Chief Executive Officer of House of Justice, Gloria Mabeiam Ballason Esq who was present to cheer on the children expressed satisfaction at the performance of the pupils: ” I am really delighted to see the growth of these children who I call my dear babies. Despair is giving way to confidence of a better tomorrow and we can visibly see the children evolving out of trauma into an understanding that the future is bright. Hope is rising!”
Ballason thanked all the spirited individuals who are giving to the SKARF project saying that they are the real champions as they are the reason IDPs and their children are gaining a new lease on life. She enjoined the general public and corporations to partner with House of Justice who through the SKARF project are putting displaced children in schools, rebuilding houses and providing psychosocial support.
