Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gideon Lucas Gwani vowed to build, among other things, Exams Hall in Government Day Secondary School, Mahuta following demand made by a leader in the community, Hon. Raymond Ibrahim.
Gwani made the promise to Mahuta community during a joint thank you visit to Mahuta, Zankan, Manchok 2 and Manchok Central in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State by the duo: Hon. Gwani and Hon. Yusuf Mugu, member, representing Kaura Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly who doubles as the Deputy Minority Whip.
Speaking on behalf of Mahuta
community, Ibrahim said, “We appreciate the visit today, which you people earlier made during the electioneering campaign. However, this community has a very pressing demand and we wish you people can help us to solve.
“Government Day Secondary School, Mahuta have people who passed through the school that are graduates in many disciplines. But, with all the success stories recorded by the school, we are yet to be rewarded as a center for examination because the school lack exams hall,” he decried.
Responding to the plight of the people of Mahuta, Gwani Vowed to build the Exams Hall for the school and prior to the promise, Gwani explained to the people of Mahuta that the visit is principally to thank the people of the community for the massive support they gave them at the 2019 polls.
“I want to start by saying that the visit was supposed to be in March, 2020 but, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, incessant attacks, especially in Zangang and Zunuruk and insecurity in general have combined together and forced us to shift the visit to May, 2021,” Gwani said.
The PDP Chairman of Kaura LG, Hon. Donatus Shemang told the communities visited that the massive infrastructural projects ongoing in the constituency, facilitated by Gwani is as a result of the years of experience acquired by Gwani as a federal legislator, which is made possible by the huge support given to him by the people of Kaura Constituency.
He added that, if Gwani was a greenhorn in the house of representatives, it wouldn’t have been possible for him to be elected as a Minority Whip and by extension the projects he has attracted to the Constituency.
Gwani and Mugu promised to come back as soon as possible for constituency briefing to state the projects already executed.
