The erstwhile Governor of Ekiti State, South West Nigeria, Peter Ayodele Fayose has called on the Federal Government to formalize the detention of the suspended Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu who is been alleged of corruption.
“The Panel of Inquiry should formalize Ibrahim Magu’s detention by obtaining a 28-day Remand Order from the court to enable completion of investigations,” he said.
Adding that, “The panel must equally get Temporary and Permanent Forfeiture of loots linked to him. That’s Magu’s style and procedure while in office. He can’t complain now.”
Sen. Shehu Sani criticises the senseless sells of forfeited properties under Magu in his active days as the EFCC topdog. According to Sani, “The Federal Ministry of Agriculture is squatting in Federal Capital Development Authority premises, Debt Management Office is renting, National Directorate of Employment is squatting, Diaspora Commission is floating without an office and yet forfeited properties were auctioned at giveaway prices.”
Ayo Salami Presidential Investigation Committee is presently probing allegations against the suspended Acting Chairman of the EFCC by the Attorney General of the Federation and Justice Minister, Abubakar Malami (SAN).
