The Deputy Minority Whip of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and the representative of Kaura Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusufu Mugu has hailed the victory of Hassan Hyat at the just concluded PDP Congress, which took place over the weekend in Kaduna.
Mugu called on those who contested but, failed to accept the victory of Hyat in good faith and work harmoniously for the good of the party. He added that, the party’s interest should be supreme to any myriad interest.
“What should preoccupy our minds now is how to make the party move forward and also reposition it to be highly competitive in all the coming elections,” Mugu said.
According to him, the victory of Hyat is good for the party because he will continue with the set agendas and programmes he has initiated over the years.
“Lack of continuity in policy and programmes have always been the bane of development and progress. Given the above backdrop, the second term of Hyat will enable him work on the already existing template he has developed for the party.
“I will want all PDP faithful in the state to see the internal crises that bedeviled the party before the Congress, all the multiple Court Injunctions and rivalries between camps as ingredients of politics, they added value and credence to the process. At the end, those who emerged victorious will know that their victory didn’t come on a platter of gold and it will make them value the offices they occupy. Now is time to bury the hatchet and work together as a team.
“I will also want to commend those who played significant role in making the election hitch free and the Congress a great success, especially the organisers of the Congress, the National Working Committee of the PDP, INEC and all the security apparatuses.”
