Former People’s Democratic Party, PDP, National Legal Adviser and 2015 senatorial aspirant of the party in the Southern Kaduna federal constituency, Barr. Mark Jacob Nzamah, in an open letter to the president of the Adara Development Associations, he said, “For over a year now, you have been in the news every morning announcing how many sleeping Adara children were slaughtered in their villages,” he said.
Adding, “The world saw the horror and genocide ongoing in your land but turned a blind eye.
Your government suggests that you deserve the bloodshed because you killed some unnamed persons some time ago, even the Presidency warned you to stop revenge killings between you and the Fulani.
“Meaning that government has adopted a narrative that you and the Fulani are engaged in battle. In fact even though no one has shown any evidence of casualty from the Fulani as compared to your many pictures and videos, you are the aggressor.
“This narrative explains why the Federal Government will respond to the killings in Katsina State on the same day it responded to the killings in your land but differently. While approving the immediate deployment of the Airforce to confront the bandits in Katsina together with the ground forces, the Federal Government only warned you and the fulani to stop reprisal killings.
“Simple explanation; it is clear government considers the situation in Adara land a mere scuffle that should not attract any drastic action, it is clear that the well armed killers that come out from the shadows, walk into any village of their choice to kill and destroy at will and will not be confronted by the State Military force. It is clear that those who could hearken to your cry and advocacy for intervention are comfortable with the status quo, it is clear that every time you cry, some people whose blood ought to boil in pains are actually smiling and gloating at your pain.
“Therefore, I will not join you to cry, no! Not anymore because that is what they want to see. I will no longer tell them they are successful in their genocidal project, I will no longer herald the greatness of their killer machines. No! Not me. I will no longer give them the pleasure of celebrating over my tears.
Rather I will say, to the wailing mothers of the land
WEEP NO MORE for the one who sits on the throne neither sleeps nor slumber. He has seen your tears.
… and to the wicked
YOUR CUP IS FULL.”
I love and like this. It is high time we stop giving prominence to genocide going on i n Southern Kaduna and not only Adara Land.
Well spoken sir. Kudos.
