The People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Rt. Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru Kudan (Bai Zazzau), said, if elected, in the first one year of his government he will, by the grace of God, bring insecurity to its barest minimum so that farmers can return to their farms, secure our communities for the benefit of everyone, secure the interest of women and youth and look into the issue of sacked workers.
Ashiru made the assertion when he visited the Agom Kufana, Chief Titus Dauda; Emir of Kajuru, HRH, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu and Esu Chikun, HRH, Ishaku Yari and parlied with religious leaders, women, and youth groups of the LGAs, yesterday.
The 3 times governorship aspirant sympathised with the two traditional institutions on the terrible situations that have been bedevilling their people: banditry and kidnapping and assures them that he will do everything humanly possible to fight the menace to enable people living in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps to return to their homes.
“I’m quite aware of the insecurity challenges facing the people of Kajuru and Chikun. It is very unfortunate and unacceptable. I really sympathise with all the victim families and communities that have being affected by this dastardly acts,” he said.
He went further to express his willingness to carry both Women and youth along.
“For the women, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has made it clear that if he becomes the president of Nigeria he will invest up to $10bn on women development. And at the state level I will do my best to see to the plight of Women.
“We, the older politicians are aware of the logjam and we need to shift ground for the youth to come in. I will surely work with the productive younger generation so that it will be easier for them to take over from where we stop.”
He also spoke about the plight of sacked workers by Gov. Nasir el-Rufai government and assures them that those who have genuine case will be reinstated, drawing inspiration from Gov. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi’s legacy
“When the military administration of Hameed Ali sacked workers in the 1990s, Gov. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi elected government, through its magnanimity set-up a committee and looked into the issue and afterward, those who had genuine case were reabsorbed while those who exceeded their years of service were paid their entitlements. And by the grace of God, we will replicate the same thing if elected. “
PDP State Chairman, Dr. Felix Hassan Hyat received in hundreds politicians who decamped from APC to PDP during the visit, which was led by Hon. Samuel A. Dangiwa
