The Managing Director cum Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of AgroLog, Dr. Manzo Maigari and his wife donated food items, toiletries worth N20m (Twenty Million Naira) and N2m medical support across Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Southern Kaduna. The distribution was undertaken by AgroLog partner, RADi, a Kaduna-based Non-governmental Organisation, reputed for its record in social intervention programmes in banditry affected communities of the region.
“AgroLog has decided to give back to the very people we work with, community which we play as a company,” said Dr. Manzo. Adding that, “So, this is basically a Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR) that aimed at supporting government effort as well as that of well-spirited individuals who have always been there for some of our brothers that fell victims of the banditry attacks. Of course, we are a very small company that can only play in a limited Geography.
“We all know that insecurity is a nationwide challenge that calls for the support of all corporative citizens as well as individuals to support victims. For us, we have provided relief materials (immediate needs) for the IDPs: Maize Flour, Beans, Rice, Palm-Oil, Salt, Maggi, Pomade, Toothpaste, Soap etc. The whole package is aimed at touching the lives of 10,000 (ten thousand) families in IDPs from Chikun to Kaura and we are committed to that.”
The agro-expert went further to say, “I’m particularly happy that the communities that we operate decides to identify with this initiatives. For us, this is like saying, you need to do more and we will do our best to ensure that we live up to expectation. We understand clearly that government cannot do everything, so, we necessarily must support and I’m calling on other able Nigerians to look at this direction seriously.”
Expressing joy over the kind gesture by AgroLog, the President of the Southern Kaduna People Union (SOKAPU), Hon. Jonathan Asake, said, I was overwhelmed with joy, happiness and being excited with what I have witnessed today. I can only say thank you to AgroLog. Thank you to Dr. Manzo, to his wife and all the partners that considers it fit to engage in this CSR by providing our distress persons, victims of banditry attacks doted across all our local governments to provide them with succor and alleviate their sufferings.
“It is wonderful to see these items that we can only estimate into tens of millions being given to distress people. In SOKAPU we always cry out. Over 108 communities have been displaced in Southern Kaduna alone and these displaced persons are not really living in camps. The identified camp we have in Kajuru is the Rimau and other places are not official camps, the victims themselves occupy uncompleted buildings and turned them into camps, and nobody is taking care of them. Only groups, good spirited individuals and now, AgroLog.”
Speaking on behalf of the IDPs in Ungwan Zawu in Gonin Gora, Chikun Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Habila S. Madami thanked AgroLog for the humanitarian gesture extended to them. Saying, their prayers is for God to bless and replenish AgroLog.
