Bomba Dauda
A philanthropist from Kamantan Chiefdom, Engr. Dauda Tawani has built a Borehole Pump at the Central Mosque in Kamantan, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The free- giver also distributed educational facilities to pupils across primary schools in Kamantan and its environs and distributed Jerseys to two football clubs, Yangal FC and Riyam FC that emerged first and second positions in the maiden edition of Tawani Foundation football tournament.
Even as a Christian he built a Borehole for the Central Mosque in Kamantan, the gesture is to give everyone a sense of belonging and to carry everyone along, Tawani said.
He added that, I established the foundation in remembrance of my late father, Pastor Tawani Bahago, a Baptist Priest. My father was a peaceful man and the only way I will carry on with his legacy in this regard is to establish a foundation in his honour to do the things that I’m sure, if he was alive, he would have done for the community.
With what is happening in this country I felt I should established a structure that will unite the youth who are the vulnerable group in our society. Football has a unifying power, it will help in fostering peace in the community.
Tawani argued that the initiative has no political purpose, it is purely on humanitarian ground.
The District Head of Fadan Kamantan, Mr. Samuel Tawani expressed the happiness of the community over the noble projects that their son has embarked on. He went further to say it is unifying the people in the community. He called on the sons and daughters of the community to emulate what Engr. Tawani is doing in the community.
Mr. Paul Audi Wushi, the Village Head of Kamantan and its environs ushered encomium on Engr. Tawani for the humanitarian services he is undertaking in the community, which he said, will go a long way in triggering development.
The Sarkin Samari Hausawa and Musulmi in Fadan Kamantan, the Turakin Kangun and Shettiman Angang, Ahmadu Muazu, thanked Tawani Foundation for the programmes that the foundation has packaged in the community. He said, the community will continue to pray for him for God protection and guidance.
