PDP stalwart in Zonkwa Constituency and former Aspirant for the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Martins B. Magaji, said, the 2023 Senatorial contest will definitely be between Hon. Sunday Marshal Katung and others.
Magaji made the assertions at a meeting of political think-tank in Kaduna, yesterday.
Magaji further stated, Sunday Marshal is not only at a pole position to pull a major upset to other contestants but, his Senatorial ambition is both timely and necessary given the present circumstances that Southern Kaduna find itself.
“The present situation in Southern Kaduna requires skill and intellectual resources to bring to the fore the issues into national context,” he explained.
“I want us to gauge Marshal on the ground that he is being credible. However, his contest is not politically expedient but, politically necessary. Aside that, Katung is home grown, he knows the local issues that are bedeviling us as a people and he has the intellectual capacity to bring these issues to national discuss. He knows the length and breadth of Southern Kaduna, and peculiarity of challenges as it affects various constituencies in Southern Kaduna,” he said.
Tanko Rossi, the Get Involved convener and political pundit explained further, saying, “Sunday Marshal Katung has served Kaduna State in different capacities and also served as a Federal Lawmaker, which are added impetus to his curriculum vitae. He has the brain and capacity to make Southern Kaduna greater.”
