In his New Year message to Nigerians, especially the good people of Kaura Constituency in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and member representing Kaura Federal Constituency, Hon. Gideon Lucas Gwani spread the message of love, tolerance and hope. He also urged the people to abide by the Covid-19 measures as promulgated by governments at all levels.
According to Gwani, 2020 was full of challenges ranging from insecurity to economic downturns but, we must not give up on our country as it is the only country we have. As such, we must come together to find solution to the debacles facing us as a nation.
The Federal Lawmaker advised the people to exhibit love to each other, saying, in the midst of all the challenges facing us we must aspire to show love and tolerate one another. And that bickering, mutual mistrust and hatred can only worsen these challenges and not helped us to solve them. As we go into 2020, he urged the people of Kaura Constituency to jettison the grievances and bitterness of 2020 and replace them with love and tolerance.
“As we go into the New Year,” he said. “We must jettison the grievances and bitterness of 2020 and replace them with love and tolerance. I urge us to imbibe the culture of love and prosperity. This is because any society that its people return love for love is more peaceful and prosperous than the one that return hate for hate.”
He further stated, 2020 has been a very tough and rough year for the nations of the world. Nigeria is not exempted. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected livelihood and shattered economies around the world. Many people have died from the deadly virus; however, we must thank God for being among the living. And as survivors, we must abide to the Covid-19 rules put in place by various governments as we are witnessing the second wave of the pandemic.
So, we must maintain social distance, avoid crowded areas, wear face mask, wash our hands thoroughly with water and Soap, Sanitize our hands after washing, and cover our nose and mouth with the elbow when coughing or sneezing.
He wishes everyone happy New Year while observing the Covid-19 protocol.
