Chawai (Tsam) Chiefdom in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State was gruesomely attacked. In a press statement signed by the President of Chawai Development Association, Chief Abel Habila Adamu and released Tuesday, April 26, 2022, it condemned in strong terms the resurfacing of unabated attack on their land by suspected bandits.
According to CDA, Despite the ongoing peace talk between the Herders Fulani and the natives of host communities in Tsam Chiefdom by relevance stakeholders, international organizations, NGOs, yet, peace seems to be elusive as there are continuous attacks on the peace loving people of Ungwan Rimi, Ungwan Magaji and Kitagum Communities all in Kamaru ward of Tsam Chiefdom, Kauru LG.
After the attacks on the 3 communities it was found out that 11 people were killed in Ungwan Rimi, namely:

4. Jummai Thomas-87
5. Monday Gani-29
6. John Amah-52
7. David Amah-63( a retired civil servant)
8. Malu David-31
9. Moris Kure-53
10. Ravo Agah-61
11. Sati Ringo-39
While 6 people were killed in Ungwan Magaji and 1 person in Kitakum respectively:

Kitakum

And in Ungwan Magaji 3 people sustained different degrees of injuries while in Ungwan Makera a person was injured. These includes:

Ungwan Makera
1. Audu Tulu
At the last count, 52 houses were burnt in Ungwan Rimi, 32 in Kitakum and 8 in
Ungwan Makera.
It was also reported that so many motorcycles were burnt and two(2) were snatched away by the bandits.
CDA appeals to all Chawai sons and daughters to remain calm, the organization will follow due process until the right thing is done by the relevant civil authorities at all levels of government.
