Given the circumstance surrounding the plight of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, in Southern Kaduna, the need to be compassionate becomes necessary.
We can’t look the other way while our people living at the IDPs are faced with double absurdity: their communities are being burnt and they are now living in terrible conditions at the IDPs.
The Chancellor of Gurara Forum, Mr. Vincent Bodam, passed the remarks when the group visited Mercy Camp in Zonkwa, Zango-kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, recently.
Bodam further reiterated that, the responsibility of providing for the IDPs lies squarely with the government because the people living at the IDPs are in the first place indigenes of the state and they also part of the social contract that established Gov. Nasiru El-rufai government.
However, it is pathetic that these people who never bargained to be attacked are left alone to fend for themselves. It is on this ground that, we, in GF contributed money and provided building material.
Meanwhile, we decided to donate building material instead of food because the people at the IDPs want to return and rebuild their communities.
